Welcome to my site! I’m thrilled that you’re interested in bringing mindfulness into the lives of your little ones. When children learn how to manage their emotions and feelings, magical things happen. They learn to love themselves and in turn spread their love to others. It’s an amazing thing! And if you bring your little one to Lizzie’s Little Yogis, you will watch this happen right before your eyes.
I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself. I am Elizabeth Blinkoff, owner of Lizzie’s Little Yogis and the instructor of all of the classes at the studio. You can call me Ms. Lizzie. I have a strong background working with children. I have degrees in teaching, counseling, and behavior management in children of all abilities. I spent many years working with children with special needs; especially Autism, ADHD, and behavioral issues. I encourage you to sign your child up despite their difficulties, as these classes will be just as beneficial for them as they will be for the typically developing child.
I have been practicing yoga for almost 15 years now and have experienced the benefits first hand. I started my journey to mindfulness through the use of meditation, art, and music this past year. The power of living in the present moment and controlling your thoughts is amazing and has changed my life. I am the mother to my own little yogi, Calvin, who is 3 years old. I have been calling Calvin my little yogi since he was about 2 because we have so much fun doing yoga together and I saw his strength, flexibility, and body awareness grow the more and more we practiced together (not to mention a growth in our bond). But yoga is just a piece of the puzzle. I wanted Calvin to learn self-acceptance, self-love, discipline, compassion, and how to label what he’s feeling and be able to express it in a healthy, positive way. Things that I never learned as a child and are much harder to learn as an adult. And since I learned these things using meditation, art, and music as an adult, I thought that’s exactly how he should be learning them too. Unfortunately I could not find anywhere in the area that taught these important skills to little ones. So I did some research and found a Children’s Yoga Instructor Certification Program that not only prepares people to teach children yoga, but all of those other wonderful things as well. Once I found that, I found my passion. I knew I had to open my own children’s yoga studio and spread these wonderful gifts to as many children as I can. Which is where the idea for Lizzie’s Little Yogis came from. And the rest is history.
I hope you will give me the opportunity to teach these powerful skills to your little one. Whether you attend once a day, once a week, or once a month, your child will benefit greatly. I love children. I love how you can see the light of their soul’s through their eyes. I want that light to shine bright for the rest of their lives. And that’s my mission at Lizzie’s Little Yogis. To give children the skills to spread their love and light to everyone around them.
Thank you for your time and I look forward to helping your children become the best versions of themselves. If you ever have any questions, don’t hesitate to contact me via email, phone, Facebook, or Instagram.
